Vedant Aggarwal & Apsara Aanand

Ballroom Weddings

Their Story

Apsara Aanand and Vedant Aggarwal wanted their wedding to be moodboard perfect. They crafted a beautiful wedding centred around the core image of pheras by the beach. Together, with their families and close friends, Apsara and Vedant created a magical moment that still brings a smile to everyone’s face.

Before you tied the knot, how did you envision your dream wedding? Which parts made it into the big day?

The day I got engaged was the day I started planning. Pinterest and Instagram flooded me with all sorts of ideas but at the heart of it, we had a vision: a deeply personalised destination wedding by the beach. We landed on a theme aptly named ‘A Filmy Wedding’ as every event was dedicated to my husband and my favourite films. To this day, I’m still mesmerised by our beach pheras—it was everything I’d dreamed of and more.

What made you decide to celebrate your wedding in Thailand, and why did this venue feel like the one?

Having attended several weddings in Thailand before, it felt like a natural choice for our destination wedding by the beach. Our wedding planner, Kavneet, founder of The Wedding Galore, suggested Dusit Thani Hua Hin which, funnily enough, wasn’t even on our list. At the insistence of Kavneet, we made the nearly-three hour drive to the venue. Upon seeing the property, everything clicked. From the space, to the energy, down to the setting—it ticked every box. We were elated.

Was there a special moment that felt uniquely Thai during your celebration?

Absolutely! Our guests loved the beautiful and traditional local Thai dance performances which were part of the welcome experience. The real highlight was the Thai foot massages we arranged for our guests throughout the celebration. They were so relaxing that nobody wanted them to end.

Looking back, which moments from the wedding truly stayed with you?

There are a few moments that will stay with me forever. Our welcome sundowner, ‘The White Party’, was one of them. Set by the beach with friends and family raising heartfelt toasts, it was the perfect start to the festivities. And of course, the fireworks after the pheras were pure magic. Standing there, under a sky lit up in celebration, as a newly married couple—it was such a “wow” moment.

Did you have any themes for your wedding festivities?

Yes! My wedding theme was ‘A Filmy Wedding’ where each individual event was inspired by a different movie. Our first function was inspired by the movie Dil Dhadakne Do (2015); the mehendi function was as vibrant as the movie it was based on, Jab We Met (2007). On the day of the wedding, our haldi function was influenced by Hum Tum (2004) and to top it all off, Hum Saath Saath Hain (1999) was the inspiration for the wedding reception.
