Karan Bindra & Jyoti Khosla

Ballroom Weddings

Their Story

Jyoti Khosla and Karan Bindra always dreamed of a beach wedding, some secretly, some more openly. Choosing Thailand was a no-brainer. They had always loved the country’s warm hospitality, incredible food, and rich culture. All of these elements came together to create a wedding that was pure magic.

Was there a specific detail or special touch that had to be a part of the wedding festivities?

We’re both water babies, deeply in love with the ocean. The vision was always clear: to celebrate our love by the sea, surrounded by those closest to us. From a vibrant poolside mehendi to a sacred Sikh ceremony by the waves, every moment reflected who we were.

What made you decide to celebrate your wedding in Thailand, and why did this particular venue feel like the one?

With family and friends scattered across Vancouver, Sydney, London, and Las Vegas, Thailand offered the perfect middle ground. Palayana stood out from the very first conversation. Owned by a Sikh family, they deeply understood our traditions and were kind enough to offer their personal home nearby for the Anand Karaj. That gesture allowed us to honour the sanctity of the ceremony in a setting that felt spiritual and truly personal.

Looking back, which moments from the wedding truly stayed with you?

There are so many. It’s hard to choose. Seeing Jyoti walk in wearing that dreamy red Sabyasachi lehenga—a backup choice that turned out to be fate—quite literally took my breath away. My siblings’ speeches, my parents’ dance, and watching our wedding teaser video for the first time, the culmination of all these things made me tear up. It beautifully captured our whirlwind two-day celebration: the laughter, the tears, the chaos… everything.

What was a surprising element or what was the most creative thing you did at your wedding?

We planned five events across two days, and each had its own soul. From a mehendi by the pool in bursts of yellow and blue, to a sunrise afterparty with an Ibiza techno theme, we made sure every guest experienced a different vibe at every event to create truly unforgettable moments.

Give us a fun anecdote from your wedding.

Jyoti had her heart set on a Falguni Shane Peacock bridal lehenga. It was being sourced from Australia and, despite payments and endless coordination, it just didn’t arrive in time. Her backup outfit—a red Sabyasachi lehenga—ended up stealing the show.
